Ashley and Evan's House of Blues NOLA Wedding

My favorite thing about photographing weddings is seeing the different ways couples approach their days. Some couples tend to sway more traditional and some couples go completely original. Ashley and Evan made their day express who they are as a couple. Matt and Val's Autumn Backyard Wedding

Last year was so different in terms of wedding photography. Since I made the move to New Orleans in the beginning of 2020 I saw a dramatic change in the wedding industry worldwide and it was such a challenging year for wedding planning. I suggested City Park and after a quick search online he thought that was the perfect place. A couple days before the big day, I took a walk around the park and scouted locations that would be perfect for them. This bridge has caught my eye a few times before and thought it would be perfect for his proposal. When I sent him a photo of the bridge he was really happy with the location choice. We spent the next couple days planning out the proposal and coordinating everything.

Being a photographer in New Orleans, I definitely haven’t been immune to how this effecting business. People are having to cancel or postpone their bigger weddings and events which sends ripples through our industry. Being that I was just married a few months ago, I couldn’t imagine all the plans for our wedding having a wrench thrown into them. It has been devastating for some couples, others are choosing alternative means of expressing their love and trying to make the best of the situation presented to them. Which brings me to Shekema and Kevon’s wedding I had the pleasure of covering a little over a week ago.
