Grace + Brock's Pennsylvania Engagement Session

I’ve officially been a photographer in New Orleans for over 6 months now. It’s been quite a journey leaving a place where I’ve spent nearly my whole life and starting over in a new state. Covid aside, my wife and I have been enjoying living in NOLA. There are so many things I miss about Pennsylvania, but most of all are the friends and family we were so used to seeing on a weekly basis. Some of those friends being Grace and Brock.

My wife and I have been pretty homesick lately and we were looking for any opportunity to make a trip home. With her being a night shift nurse at a hospital, it makes it pretty challenging to plan a trip anywhere in advance. Luck would have it, my wife had a nice 7 day break between shifts so we decided to make a quick trip back home. Once we planned the trip I reached out to Grace and let her know we were coming home and wanted to see her and Brock. We haven’t had a chance to see them in person since they’ve become engaged!

I definitely wanted to do their engagement photos while I was home. When I brought the idea up to Grace and Brock they were really excited. From there we started to plan out how the shoot would look, locations, etc… There’s a few things that go into planning an engagement shoot, but the most important thing I tell my couples is that I want to do a shoot that represents your relationship. You’ll feel a stronger connection to the photos and be much more happy with the outcome. Knowing them well made this much easier for me.

We decided on this park I like in Allentown. It has a lot to offer photographically and they’ve actually been there before. They wanted to do a quick half hour session and keep it pretty casual which is perfect for them. I managed to get a lot of great images in that 30 minute period since we had so much to work with at the park. This session was really special for me, I wanted to create some keepsakes for my friends that they would cherish for years to come. Congrats on your engagement you two!
